Running Reality Protocol in Production

After hearing about Reality for months, finally moved my self-hosted proxy to it. Here's the experience.

Why Reality?

The main appeal: no more worrying about domain fronting configurations. With VLESS + TLS + Reality, the server looks like a normal HTTPS website to any observer.

Configuration

Using x-ui as the management panel. The setup wizard made it painless — selected Reality as the protocol, picked www.cloudflare.com as the SNI, and that was it.

Client Setup

Shadowrocket on iOS picked it up via subscription URL. The connection is snappy — barely any latency added compared to my previous WireGuard setup.

One Month Later

No issues. Speed tests show negligible overhead. The best part: I no longer need to manage domain certificates or worry about TLS configurations.
